He has a special attitude that’s clear of heart and mind
You’d say that Shane Murphy was, Yes one of a kind!
A lad that doesn’t drink a lot, then sometimes Yes he does
Creates a change in personality, a life without that buzz
Cause he’s a guy that loves his sport, rugby to the end
Runs second to his golf pro-ess, for this he doesn’t bend
How good you’d be with a handicap, he tells me shyly five
Doesn’t count the strokes not seen, that keeps his golf alive
Not shy in any shape or form, his life is touched with sin
Don’t know if he’s told Martha yet, he’s in love with Scottish Lynne
This non smoking lad does listen well, is ne’re seen off his face
Retorts with favourite sayings like, “that’s ridiculous”, or “it’s a damn disgrace”
He found two other watering holes, where mates he’d go to meet
The Courthouse and The Nelson, both on Oxford Street
But Durty Nelly’s outshone them all for family atmosphere
A pub you’d say was best of all, to laugh or shed a tear
And I know that this will happen, it seems to be the trend
When you leave behind a way of life, or that special friend
But I know that they’ll be waiting, at Portumna without notion
Where the icy winds from Galway blows, off the Atlantic Ocean
We’ll think of you with fondness too, sometimes with slight amour
But I’ll remember most of all, not knocking on the door
And standing round when work was done, watching sport on all the tele’s
It’s been our pleasure to have you here, at our Pub called Durty Nelly’s (Sydney) “Oh Yeah”!!
